Stormy Hawaii Sunrise

This is what I mean when I say stormy weather can result in some dramatic photographs.  I captured this just after sunrise today and did absolutely no twiddling with it in PhotoShop.  Right out of the camera and into the blog.

  1. You call this stormy? When it’s stormy in most places THERE IS NO SUN! I see sun. If you want to see stormy come to Portland for a visit.

  2. O.K. You’re right. There was sun, for a moment, a few minutes, no longer than I could hold my breath for, as the orb crested the horizon and, then, dove behind a big, black cloud. It had, however, rained during the night. And while you can’t see them in this picture, there were clouds the color of a good bruise shadowing the mountain. You just can’t make them out, because I exposed the image to capture the exquisite light on the mountain rather than the STORMY clouds above. By the way, I’ll pass on stormy Portland. I’ll wait for sunny Portland and blooming roses.
